There’s no better time to take a road trip from Los Angeles to the Napa Valley than in November, just in time for the annual Flavor! Napa Valley extravaganza – organizers call it “a celebration of food, wine, fun” and they are not kidding.
When wine lovers think about Bordeaux the first thought is often “the best wines in the world.” The second thought is quite often “too bad that I can’t afford them.” But there is no need to skip the Bordeaux region because of cost. Not all good Bordeaux wines have crazy prices. Sure a bottle of a great vintage Lafite Rothschild or Château Ausone can cost you a few months’ pay. But keep in mind that there are more than 6000 wineries in the Bordeaux region. And many make excellent wines that can cost as little as $15 or $20.
Where do actors George Clooney and Kathy Bates, singers Tom Jones and Alicia Keys, and even socialite Paris Hilton (just to name-drop a few of Hollywood’s elite) go to escape the rigors of being in the spotlight day in and day out? Why, the tiny island of Corsica, that’s where.

We recently had the opportunity to be guests at a "Five-Star Trio" of hotels in three magnificent regions of Portugal.
