Music: Concert: Skerik’s Bandalabra Coming to The Mint

Skerik, the talented and eclectic saxophone wizard is bringing his newest group Bandalabra to The Mint in Los Angeles for a night of musical adventure. On Monday March 26, 2012, the club will be jumping with this new band’s afro beat rhythms and creative harmonics. The show is part of a 14-day West Coast release tour for their new debut album Live At The Royal Room which captured the band’s first ever public performance.

Skerik (born Eric Walton) is a Seattle born tenor and baritone saxophone innovator. He is one of the founding members of Garage A Trois (www.garageatrois.net), a highly respected rock, funk and jazz quartet that has been around since 1999. He has recorded as part of a few other groups and also is known for his collaborations with virtually every artist in the jamband, funk and modern jazz scene. Bandalabra brings together some of Seattle’s most respected players: Andy Coe on electric guitar, Evan Flory Barnes on upright bass and Dvonne Lewis on drums.
