One of the most anticipated food events of the year took place on a Sunday afternoon in October at the majestic Saddlerock Ranch in the Malibu hills. Los Angeles Magazine puts on this spectacular culinary feast that is simply called The Food Event. The home of Malibu Family Wines, makers of Saddlerock and Semler wines served as the site for this tasting event. More than 40 of the finest restaurants and food purveyors in the greater Los Angeles area provided samples of their menus. Guests tasted some amazing food, drank a variety of wines, beers and cocktails while enjoying a beautiful autumn day at the scenic ranch setting.
Los Angeles is definitely a foodie town, and there are many events throughout the year that celebrate the diverse culinary skills available in the Southland. One such event is highly anticipated for its unique combination of great chefs, excellent wine, top shelf liquor and beautiful setting. It was a sunny day in the Malibu Hills where about 2500 guests enjoyed Los Angeles Magazine’s annual Food Event at Saddlerock Ranch. The October 23rd, 2011 event featured amazing food, great wine, and fine spirits that kept the crowds happy. The picturesque setting added a magical aura to the culinary extravaganza and made it an extremely enjoyable Sunday afternoon.
It was blazing hot this year at the Seventh Annual Malibu Wine Classic, held on Saturday, August 29, 2009, at the Malibu Civic Center. Every year the Classic features an afternoon filled with top-notch wines and gourmet foods, this time showcasing more than 60 wineries from California's Central Coast (Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Los Angeles, and Ventura counties) and tasty tidbits from many Malibu-based restaurants and beyond.
